Hello!

My name is Mrs. Christine Moore. I am thrilled to be your child's teacher this year. 7th grade is a challenging, but fun, year and I look forward to many wonderful days with your children.

Just a little about me - I have been in education at levels from Pre-K up through college for almost 21 years. My B.S. is in education and psychology from Howard Payne University. My M.Ed. is in curriculum and instruction, specializing in reading and language. I am currently in the final stage of my dissertation process. When finished, I will have a Ph.D. in Educational Technology. Right now in addition to teaching your children, I am an adjunct instructor at Galveston College and a writer for TechEdge magazine.

I am married and have four children. My oldest son is 20 and has graduated from Texas State Technical College. My oldest daughter is 19 and starts college this year. Next are the twins, a boy and a girl, they are 15 and in 10th grade. My darling "baby" is a miniature Boston Terrier named Rambo.

WELCOME TO 7th GRADE  ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS &READING!

(ELAR)

How our class is set up:

We have two ELAR teachers on the 7th grade team due to the fact that 7th graders are tested in reading AND writing. Because reading and writing go hand-in-hand, we modified our schedule so that we each have two 2-hour blocks and we each have the advanced class for one hour. This gives us more time with students and the ability to better connect reading and writing. I teach the advanced reading class, and the other ELAR teacher teaches the advanced writing class.
